The Sr. Account Manager (SAM) manages sales in a specified geographic territory: upper Northeast - Maine, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts and upstate New York (Rochester, Buffalo, Albany) focusing on designated food ingredient accounts to build relationships, grow profitability, improve service, and increase sales at active accounts while developing new accounts. The Sr. Account Manager coordinates the territory’s sales and service in a fashion that meets or exceeds all the customer’s needs and demands. SAMs are required to focus on strategic products, identify new accounts and organic growth opportunities, and always try to win new business. In addition, commitment to achieving designed team sales goals, will be critical to success of the company as a whole.

• Provides technical support for the customer
• Calls on the customer to take supply orders and introduce them to new products
• Communicates with the Product Managers, Sales Coordinators, Customer Service Representatives, and Inside Sales Account Managers to stay current on all product information, trends, and customer needs
• Uses Salesforce to update all relevant customer account information and the opportunity data base, along with maintaining schedule in the calendar
• Travels extensively each month, maintains and submits expenses in a timely way for accounting purposes, and automobile log where applicable
• Abide by the Product Manager/Product Administrator pricing policies
• Assist in moving designated inventory when needed
• Turn inventory as frequently as possible
• Establish accurate customer forecasts and budgets.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required (BS in business, food science, chemistry,
biology, or nutrition a plus)
• 3-5 years sales or related job experience in the food ingredients business
• Excellent organizational and communication skills a must
• Exceptional computer skills (extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel and using the Internet)
• Must be able to travel to call accounts on a weekly basis (up to 75% of the time)
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Remote and must live in the states of the geographical territory.
